Description
The ATM250 is Audio-Technica’s answer for sound sources that hit hard and loud — think kick drums, floor toms, congas, or a blaring trumpet at close range. Its hypercardioid capsule stays composed under extreme sound pressure levels, translating that energy into a big, warm low-frequency character with plenty of presence rather than distortion or mud.
A Hi-ENERGY neodymium magnet drives improved output and quicker transient response, so fast attacks stay articulate. The tight hypercardioid pattern rejects off-axis noise from the sides and rear, which matters on crowded stages or multi-mic drum kits where isolation between sources is critical — you get more usable gain before feedback becomes an issue.
Build quality follows the rugged, all-metal Audio-Technica standard, with a gold-plated XLRM-type connector resisting corrosion over years of touring or studio use.
