Description
The CAD Trion 7000 pairs two ultra-thin aluminum ribbons inside a shared magnetic field, doubling sensitivity while retaining the smooth, rounded character ribbon mics are prized for. As each ribbon moves in response to sound pressure, the combined output produces a fuller, richer signal than a single-ribbon design typically offers — ideal for smoothing out harsh guitar stacks, brass, and woodwinds, or adding classic depth to a vocal take.
Its figure-of-eight polar pattern captures sound equally from front and rear while rejecting off-axis noise from the sides, making it a natural choice for room-blending techniques or side-address setups in the studio. The Trion 7000 works well across a wide range of sources beyond vocals and voice-over, including acoustic instruments, guitar cabinets, strings, and piano.
