Description
The AT2041SP pairs two of Audio-Technica’s 20 Series condensers so you can cover a full session without renting extra mics. The AT2020 is a side-address cardioid that’s become a go-to for lead vocals and close-miked instruments, thanks to its low-mass diaphragm and extended, transient-accurate frequency response. The AT2021 is its small-diaphragm sibling, shaped for acoustic guitar, hi-hat, piano, drum overheads, and group vocal work where a tighter pickup and natural top end matter.
Both mics share a cardioid polar pattern that keeps off-axis noise and bleed out of the signal, along with the high SPL handling and wide dynamic range you’d expect from Audio-Technica’s studio line. Build quality is consistent across the pair — gold-plated XLRM connectors, rugged housings, and the kind of unit-to-unit reliability that lets you trust a matched setup.
Each mic ships with its own mounting hardware: a pivoting, threaded stand mount for the AT2020 (plus a 5/8″-27 to 3/8″-16 adapter) and a dedicated stand clamp for the AT2021, both with protective pouches for storage or transport. Cakewalk’s SONAR LE recording software is bundled in as well, giving Windows-based users (XP, X64, Vista) a starting point for tracking straight out of the box.
