The Countryman ISOMAX 2 is a tiny condenser capsule engineered to disappear into the toughest audio situations — inside instruments, taped to a stage, or concealed in a set for film, TV, or theater. This omnidirectional configuration ships with a 10-foot cable terminated in an XLR3 male connector, ready to patch straight into your console or preamp.
What sets the ISOMAX 2 line apart is Countryman’s frequency-independent pattern design. Many small condensers drift toward omnidirectional behavior at low frequencies, undermining their off-axis rejection right when you need it most. The ISOMAX 2 holds its polar shape across the band, so directional versions actually stay directional, and this omni model stays consistently open and natural sounding at every frequency.
Sound quality stays clean even under extreme pressure — the capsule handles the intense SPLs found inside brass, percussion, and other loud sources without distortion creeping in, thanks to a full, open frequency response and very low inherent noise.
