Description
The Heil PR22 UT takes the acclaimed PR22 capsule and pairs it with a pared-down accessory set, giving you the same core performance for less. At its heart is a large 1 1/8″ low-mass aluminum voice coil driven by a purpose-built magnet structure, delivering a smooth 50 Hz – 18 kHz response with the kind of articulation vocalists and broadcasters rely on.
A carefully engineered phasing plug uses evenly spaced ports to cancel off-axis sound out of phase, producing a tight, consistent cardioid pickup that resists proximity effect and rejects rear-arriving noise by -30 dB at 180 degrees off axis. Because the pattern stays linear across the frequency range, the mic sounds like itself whether it’s close to the mouth or working at a bit of distance.
Handling noise is where the PR22 UT really sets itself apart. An internal rubber suspension system isolates the capsule from stand and cable vibration, so grabbing, adjusting, or moving the mic mid-performance won’t translate into thumps through the PA. Combined with a 145 dB max SPL rating, this element shrugs off loud sources and high-gain stage setups without breaking up – no phantom or DC power required.
Built rugged for daily touring and broadcast use, the PR22 UT ships with:
- Stainless steel mesh grille
- Black acoustical foam windscreen
- Mic stand clip
- Zippered carrying case
Backed by Heil Sound’s 3-year parts / 90-day labor warranty.
