Description
The Heil PR77D is a large-diaphragm dynamic microphone engineered for broadcast, podcasting, and studio or home recording where clarity and consistency matter. Its 1-inch, low-mass voice coil sits inside a neodymium-iron-boron magnet structure, delivering a flat, wide-range response with fast transient detail, natural speech articulation, and low intermodulation distortion.
A carefully tuned phasing plug assembly gives the PR77D a tight cardioid pattern with over -40 dB of rear rejection at 180 degrees off-axis, so background noise and bleed stay out of the signal. At the same time, the front pickup area is forgiving of movement, letting a speaker or vocalist shift position without hearing tonal shifts.
What sets the PR77D apart is its two-position frequency switch. Flip to Voice mode for a 120 Hz roll-off at -6 dB per octave that tightens up speech, or select Music mode to open up the full 60 Hz–16 kHz range for a broader, more musical capture. This flexibility makes it equally at home on a podcast desk, in a broadcast booth, or on a home studio mic stand.
The PR77D is built for boom or base mounting only, with standard 5/8″–27 stand threads.
