Its name references 2011, the year this circuit and capsule combination came together as a new benchmark rather than a nod to the past. It’s built for engineers chasing a sound beyond conventional studio standards.
At its core sits a pressure-gradient electrostatic capsule with a 27mm active diaphragm, delivering a full 20Hz–20kHz frequency range in a fixed cardioid pattern. Output impedance sits at 50 ohms against a rated load of 1000 ohms (500+ ohms suggested), with sensitivity measured at 22 mV/Pa at 1kHz into a 1000-ohm load.
Noise performance is a strong suit here: 76.5 dB S/N (CCIR 468-3 weighted) and 87.5 dB-A (DIN/IEC 651 A-weighted), with an equivalent noise floor of just 6.5 dB-A.
