Description
The Electro-Voice ND76S puts a large-diaphragm dynamic capsule into a road-ready body, tuned specifically for singers performing in small to mid-sized rooms. The result is a vocal sound that stays clear, balanced, and out front in the mix without extra EQ wrangling from the console.
EV built this mic to survive real gigs, not just soundcheck. A shock-mounted capsule isolates the element from handling noise, so stomps, cable knocks, and stand bumps don’t translate into low-end thuds through the PA. A humbucking coil rejects electromagnetic interference, letting you work confidently near amp stacks, lighting rigs, and power-hungry gear racks without picking up hum. The grille itself is finished in EV’s Memraflex construction — a tightly woven mesh designed to shrug off drops and rough handling that would dent a standard basket.
This particular ND76 variant adds an on/off switch directly on the body, giving performers control to mute or unmute without relying on the engineer or a separate mute button on the stand.
The ND76S draws on EV’s N/Dym capsule lineage, refined further in the ND Series to push clarity and acoustic control beyond the original design. Each model in the series is voiced for a specific venue size and stage volume, and this one is dialed in for rooms where projection and presence matter more than raw SPL handling for loud instruments.
