Description
The ATM73a is a headworn cardioid condenser microphone designed for performers who can’t afford to be tethered to a stand. Its lightweight, unobtrusive headband holds the capsule just off the corner of the mouth, making it a favorite among drummers, keyboard players, and anyone else who needs both hands free while staying miked up.
A belt-mounted power module handles the electronics and connects via an integral 3-pin XLRM output, running on either battery or phantom power (11-52V DC) depending on the setup. The cardioid pickup pattern focuses on the intended sound source while rejecting bleed from surrounding stage noise, an essential trait for close-quarters live use.
