The Pro49QL is Audio-Technica’s answer to fixed-installation speech pickup, where a discreet, dependable gooseneck matters more than a handheld or clip-on solution. It’s a double-gooseneck design that mounts directly into any standard XLRF-type panel or cable connector, so integrators can drop it into a podium, boardroom table, or house-of-worship pulpit without extra hardware.
Inside sits a wide-range condenser capsule with a low-mass diaphragm and fixed-charge back plate, delivering a flat, smooth response tuned for clear, natural voice reproduction. Because the electronics are self-contained within the mic body, there’s no need for an outboard power module — just standard 9-52V DC phantom power keeps it running.
At 16.46″ overall length and just 2.8 oz, the gooseneck itself is rated for long-term, fixed-placement use and stays quiet even when repositioned. The included AT8146 windscreen (16.5″) tames breath noise and plosives without dulling clarity, making this a practical grab for permanent speech reinforcement setups.
