The B-2 PRO is Behringer’s versatile take on the multi-pattern large-diaphragm condenser, built around a 1″ gold-sputtered dual-diaphragm capsule mounted on a pressure-gradient transducer. Because the capsule is shock-mounted internally, the mic stays quiet even in busy studio environments, while the transformerless FET input circuitry keeps self-noise low and low-frequency distortion at bay.
Flip between cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-eight patterns depending on the source and setting. Cardioid tightens focus on what’s in front of the mic and rejects off-axis noise, omni opens up to capture a room’s full ambience, and figure-eight picks up front and rear while ignoring the sides — handy for duo vocal takes or Mid-Side stereo work. Frequency response runs a flat 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a gentle presence lift, so vocals and acoustic instruments come through with detail intact rather than artificially hyped.
Since it’s a condenser design, the B-2 PRO needs +48V phantom power to run — supplied by any phantom-equipped mixer or preamp, including Behringer’s own XENYX line. A switchable -10dB pad handles loud sources without clipping, and a low-cut filter trims unwanted rumble before it hits your mix.
Build quality leans toward the industrial side: a satin nickel-plated brass body and gold-plated 3-pin XLR output for a clean, corrosion-resistant signal path. It ships with a heavy-duty suspension mount, windscreen, and aluminum carrying case, ready to slot into a home studio, project space, or live rig as either a main or support mic.
