Description
The Earthworks M50 is engineered for measurement work where nothing less than absolute accuracy will do. As the flagship of Earthworks’ measurement line, it delivers a flat frequency response from 3Hz all the way up to 50kHz (±1/-3dB), capturing both subsonic and ultrasonic content that lesser mics simply miss. This makes it a go-to tool for loudspeaker R&D and QC, scientific research, and testing of ultrasonic or subsonic transducers.
Its omnidirectional capsule maintains a remarkably even, coherent response both on- and off-axis, so measurements stay trustworthy regardless of source angle. Combined with a lightning-fast impulse response and linear phase behavior, the M50 pairs seamlessly with FFT-based measurement platforms such as SMAART, SIM, REW, FuzzMeasure, and Electroacoustics Toolbox, as well as PA alignment and loudspeaker design workflows.
Rated to handle 140dB SPL without distortion or handling noise, and built with temperature-compensated electronics, the M50 holds up under demanding environmental conditions while continuing to deliver repeatable results. Every unit is individually hand-tuned, tested, and shipped with its own printed frequency response chart; a free Electronic Calibration File is available after registration.
