The PR 20 UT is Heil Sound’s way of putting the exact same award-winning PR 20 capsule into the hands of players and sound engineers who just want a great mic without the extra trimmings. Nothing about the internal build has been touched — you’re getting the identical dynamic element, the same wide frequency response, and the same rugged steel housing found in the standard PR 20. The only difference is what’s in the box.
Instead of the interchangeable gold, silver, and black grill screens and the padded case that come with the standard version, the UT keeps things simple: a stainless mesh grill, a foam windscreen, and a mic clip, all packed in a basic vinyl zipper bag. Heil Sound founder Bob Heil calls it the PR 20
