The X1 A picks up where sE’s original X1 left off, reworking the capsule and internal electronics to squeeze more clarity and headroom out of a familiar, road-tested metal chassis. It’s a cardioid large-diaphragm condenser aimed squarely at project studios that need one mic capable of covering vocals, acoustic guitar, drum overheads, and loud electric cabinets without a wardrobe of specialty microphones.
At the heart of the mic sits a newly engineered 2/3″ permanently-biased capsule tuned for a smooth, uncolored frequency response across the full 20 Hz-20 kHz range. Because it can handle up to 150 dB SPL with the pad engaged, you can park it in front of a cranked amp or a fortissimo horn section without worrying about distortion.
