Description
The TF39 Copperhead Deluxe takes the celebrated Copperhead tone and opens it up to three polar patterns. Swap between cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 via the dual-membrane K67-style capsule, and you gain the room-capture flexibility that studio work often demands — without changing the underlying character that made the original Copperhead a favorite. Aside from the added pattern selection, the electronics and sound of the TF39 mirror its single-pattern sibling exactly.
What’s Inside
Each TF39 is hand-assembled in the USA around a new-old-stock American 5654W vacuum tube, an all-brass K67-style capsule, and a Swedish-made Lundahl output transformer. The result is a mic with a smooth, even frequency response and a midrange that leans natural rather than hyped, backed by low-end extension that holds up on sources needing weight.
- Hand-built in the USA
- Natural, uncolored midrange
- Extended low-frequency response
- Distinctive antique copper finish
- Premium EU-made Lundahl transformer
Where It Fits
Its balanced character suits acoustic and roots genres — bluegrass, folk, Americana — as well as natural vocal recording. On instruments, it handles electric guitar, saxophone, banjo, and upright piano with equal ease, and on drums it works well as a kick-out, overhead, or room mic.
In the Box
The TF39 Copperhead Deluxe system ships complete with the multi-pattern M 903 power supply, M 803 tube microphone cable, ZC03 shell case, M 703 shock mount, M 782 stand mount, and a microphone sleeve.
