Description
The Aston Origin pairs a hand-selected, one-inch (1″) gold-evaporated capsule with transformer-less, high-end circuitry to deliver a direct, intimate sound that stays honest to the source. While it’s equally at home on a wide range of instruments, it particularly shines on vocals and acoustic guitar, making it a versatile first condenser for home or project studios.
Aston’s signature wave-form mesh head does double duty: it protects the capsule from knocks (flexing under impact and springing back undamaged) while providing some off-axis rejection to keep recordings cleaner. Built into that same head is a stainless steel mesh-knit pop filter, which tames plosives at the source, blocks electromagnetic interference, and can be unclipped for a wash when needed.
Aston also rethought the end caps, moulding in an XLR connector and an interchangeable stand-mount thread directly into the microphone body. This means the Origin can be screwed straight onto a stand without a separate clip, and it also simplifies servicing down the line. Every chassis is individually tumbled for up to four hours for a durable, distinctive finish, then engraved with Aston’s “The art of performance” mantra. Packaging is kept simple, protective, and reusable.
Inside, a balanced blend of discrete and integrated circuitry, along with a harmonised phantom power and capsule bias stage, keeps amplification controlled and audio clear.
