Description
The Audio-Technica PRO45 is designed to disappear from view while doing serious sound-reinforcement work. Its slim, low-profile body makes it a natural fit for suspending above choirs, orchestras, theater productions, and speech applications where a visible microphone would be a distraction.
- Cardioid polar pattern focuses on sound from the front while rejecting off-axis noise, helping keep overhead pickup clean in busy acoustic spaces.
- High SPL handling means it won’t distort when hung above a full choir or orchestra section pushing serious volume.
- A wide-range condenser element paired with a low-mass diaphragm delivers accurate, detailed sound reproduction.
- Self-powered electronics are built into the mic itself, so there’s no need for an external power module to run it.
- Flat, smooth frequency response (70-16,000 Hz) keeps the tonal balance natural across the vocal and instrumental range.
- A permanently attached 25′ (7.6 m) cable runs from the mic to an XLRM-type connector, simplifying installation for fixed hanging positions.
The PRO45 uses a fixed-charge back plate, permanently polarized condenser element, with 100 ohms impedance. It’s remarkably compact and light—just 2.24″ (56.9 mm) long, 0.47″ (12.0 mm) head diameter, and 0.5 oz (15 g)—so it stays visually unobtrusive wherever it’s suspended. It’s finished in black; a white version is sold separately as the PRO45W for venues where a lighter finish blends in better.
Whether you’re outfitting a sanctuary, concert hall, or theater for permanent overhead pickup, the PRO45 offers a dependable, low-maintenance solution that stays out of sight and out of the way.
