The X1 A took the original X1’s winning formula and pushed it further, pairing a freshly engineered condenser capsule with the same tough, all-metal chassis. The result is a mic that stays quiet electrically, handles up to 150 dB of SPL without flinching, and delivers a smooth, natural response across the frequency spectrum — all while keeping its home-studio price tag.
Because sensitivity is so evenly balanced, this isn’t a one-trick vocal mic. Point it at an acoustic guitar, a snare, a horn section, or a cranked amp and it stays composed. Two onboard switches add flexibility: a -20 dB pad tames loud sources for tight close-miking, and a 100 Hz low-cut filter clears out rumble, footsteps, or proximity-effect bass buildup.
Build quality is solid metal rather than lightweight plastic, which helps shield the capsule from RF interference and keeps the mic looking presentable long-term. An integrated windscreen protects the capsule and reduces the need for a separate pop filter, and the gold-plated XLR connector keeps the signal path reliable session after session.
